Caitlin Clark has spent more time on the sidelines than she has in her career this year with the Indiana Fever. But the WNBA superstar says she is fully healthy and ready to return to action.

Clark told reporters Friday afternoon that she has been cleared by the Indiana medical staff. The Fever are set to host the defending WNBA champions, the New York Liberty, Saturday.

"I'm really excited," Clark said. "I think it's definitely been a process. I think the hardest part is when you begin to feel really good, and then it's just a process of working yourself back into actually getting up and down, and getting out there with my teammates.

"Obviously, that can be a little difficult at the same time when they're prepping for other games that I know I'm not going to be available in. But I think the medical staff, I have to give them a lot of credit. I think they did a really good job and just have tried to control my mindset the whole time that I've been out and learn from the bench."

Clark, in her sophomore season after being an All-American at Iowa while leading the Hawkeyes to the national championship game, is averaging 19 points and 9.3 assists per game. She last played on May 24, which happened to be a 90-88 loss to the Liberty, scoring 18 points with 10 assists and five rebounds.

She has two double-doubles and a triple-double in four regular season games played this year.

"I think it can teach you a lot of different things," Clark said. "It was certainly a learning opportunity, and I think it's going to benefit me a lot throughout my career, just falling back and understanding certain moments like this."

The Indiana vs. New York game is scheduled to air live on ABC and stream on ESPN+ beginning at 2 p.m. CT.
