NBA Insider Thinks That San Antonio Spurs Victor Wembanyama Is Well On His Way
Zach Kram of espn.com wrote about different players in the NBA who could potentially be hall of famers in the future. Kram believes that Wembanyama is a young star who is well on their way to getting there. Kram said about the Spurs superstar,
"And it might seem presumptive to include Wembanyama in this group, as he has played only 117 career games. But health permitting, presumably every NBA player, executive and fan would envision Wembanyama as a future Hall of Famer due to his expansive skill set at such a young age."
Wembanyama is just 21 years old and he is entering his third NBA season after being the number one overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. In 46 games during the 2024-2025 NBA season, he averaged 24.3 PPG, 11.0 RPG, 3.7 APG, 3.8 BPG, and 1.1 SPG. Wembanyama also shot 47.6% from the field last season.
In 117 games played in his NBA career so far, he is averaging 22.5 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 3.8 APG, 3.7 BPG, and 1.2 SPG. Wembanyama has also shot 46.9% from the field in his career so far. In his career, he already won the rookie of the year award. He has also led the NBA in blocks for two straight seasons, appeared in an NBA all-star game in 2025, and was also NBA all-defensive first team during his rookie season.
There is no doubt that Wembanyama is going to win more awards in his career like defensive player of the year, MVP, finals MVP, and also go to more NBA all-star games as well. There is no doubt that Wembanyama is going to be an elite player for the Spurs for a long time. He has a chance to be a top five player in the sport over the next two years. This will lead him to being a hall of fame player over the course of his NBA career as long as he can stay healthy.
