Consider the Minnesota Timberwolves a likely landing spot for a much-discussed Phoenix Suns trade chip this summer.
After another disappointing season, the writing is on the wall that Phoenix is open to moving Kevin Durant.
Durant will attract plenty of suitors, of course, but on Tuesday, Forbes’ Evan Sidery discussed the growing possibility that KD will land on another Western Conference team.
“With how the Western Conference Finals is playing out, the Timberwolves have become an even more intriguing potential Kevin Durant destination,” Sidery wrote.
“Minnesota made a sneakily aggressive push for Durant in February, and they have the necessary assets to pursue him again this summer.”

If the Wolves did snag Durant, it would be because they believe an Anthony Edwards-KD duo would push Minnesota to the next level. It would be somewhat of a timeline risk, given Durant's age (will be 37 before next season).
It would be interesting to see which tradeable assets Minnesota would use to get Durant if it went down that avenue.
Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels, Donte DiVincenzo, and Naz Reid are all possibilities, but how many of these guys could the Wolves lose while ostensibly winning a trade that nets them only KD in exchange?
A Durant addition would be awesome from an entertainment and star power perspective, but the Wolves have to be careful not to gut their entire rotation -- most of which has reached the Western Conference Finals for two years running -- just to receive a quality year or two of Durant.
