Kevin Durant had yet another strong season in 2024-25. The 2013-14 MVP averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 52.7% from the field, 43.0% from three-point range and 83.9% from the free-throw line.

Despite his strong performance, the Phoenix Suns failed to reach the postseason. It appears that the future Hall of Famer will be on the move to a fifth franchise this summer as the organization looks to get under the second apron of the luxury tax.

Shams Charania recently appeared on SportsCenter, where he revealed that Durant has no interest in joining one of the teams making a strong push for him.

"I'm told the Phoenix Suns remain in active conversations around the league on a Kevin Durant deal," ESPN's Shams Charania reported Monday. "But their focus over the last several days has been on three teams and that's the Miami Heat, Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves. We know his preferred destinations though are the Rockets, (San Antonio) Spurs and the Heat."

"The Suns have been working with Durant's business partner, Rich Kleiman, on just figuring out exactly where he could end up," Charania continued. "Could it be one of his three preferred destinations? Could it be a wild card team? Because, listen, at the end of the day, his expiring contract of $54.7 million is going to play a part in this. And I'm told Durant has no desire to be in Minnesota with the Timberwolves. So, how does that shape how the Minnesota Timberwolves and other teams that could have interest and are outside of his preferred list decide how to move forward with these Durant discussions?"

The Timberwolves could still attempt to win the Durant sweepstakes with the hope that he would sign an extension once he is in the building. While they have reached the Western Conference Finals in each of the past two seasons, acquiring one of the greatest players in NBA history could help put them over the top.

Pairing Durant with Anthony Edwards would likely give opposing teams plenty of matchup nightmares. The 15-time All-Star is expected to be moved before the 2025 NBA Draft.
