The Phoenix Suns have spent much of the early season searching for a consistent secondary scoring option while guard Jalen Green remains sidelined with a hamstring injury that has limited him for most of the year.
For the past two games, Grayson Allen filled that role admirably, totaling 65 points—including a career-high 42 against the New Orleans Pelicans. But Thursday night against the struggling 1-10 Indiana Pacers, it was Dillon Brooks who joined Devin Booker to power Phoenix to its fifth straight victory.
Booker delivered another strong all-around performance, finishing with 33 points, seven assists and five rebounds, committing just one turnover. Brooks nearly matched him, scoring 32 points on an efficient 12-for-18 shooting night. Allen contributed 12 points, and three Suns bench players reached double figures: Oso Ighodaro (17), Jordan Goodwin (10) and Collin Gillespie (10).
After opening the season 3-5, the Suns have surged back above.500, improving to 8-5 and climbing to seventh in the competitive Western Conference. Despite the early-season inconsistency, Phoenix sits only one game out of third place, highlighting how tightly packed the conference standings remain.
The Suns will enjoy a two-day break before hosting the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday. With Green set to miss at least the next few weeks, Phoenix will continue relying on its depth—and Booker’s star power—to stay firmly in the Western Conference race until he is ready to return.
