The Philadelphia 76ers' biggest priorities this offseason will be re-signing two of their free agents: Quentin Grimes and Guerschon Yabusele. Yabusele broke out in his NBA return with Philadelphia, while Grimes broke out after the Sixers traded for him at the deadline.
Whether the team will retain both of them is the question. While nothing will be set in stone for some time, NBA Insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer revealed that Philadelphia believes Grimes will stick around because there won’t be much money to go around this summer.
“The Sixers, meanwhile, also continue to express confidence that they will be able to re-sign breakout shooting guard Quentin Grimes,” Stein and Fischer wrote. “The fourth-year guard, like all restricted free agents, heads into the summer marketplace knowing Brooklyn is likely to be the only team flush with cash to spend.”
Regarding Yabusele, Stein and Fischer reported that the plan is to keep the French forward, as signaled by a move they made at the trade deadline.
“League sources say that Philadelphia also hopes to re-sign bruising forward Guerschon Yabusele. Creating the needed financial flexibility to be able to retain the French national-teamer, who played this season on a veteran minimum deal, was a significant motivation behind Philadelphia's cost-cutting moves at the trade deadline,” Stein and Fischer wrote.
The move in question was when the Sixers traded Reggie Jackson to the Washington Wizards to open up cap flexibility for this offseason. The Sixers’ perfect offseason requires keeping those two, as the team never got to see itself at full strength.

If the Sixers get a high lottery pick on top of keeping them, it’d be hard to see a better offseason for them than that.
