Oklahoma City Thunder superstar guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made NBA Finals history during the team's Game 4 win over the Indiana Pacers.
Gilgeous-Alexander's 15 points in the last five minutes of regulation in Game 4 on Friday were the most by a player in the final five minutes of a finals game since 1971.
The Thunder were on the verge of falling down 3-1 to the Pacers, but Gilgeous-Alexander put together a massive fourth quarter and saved Oklahoma City's season.
Now, the Thunder will head back to the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City for Game 5 on Monday with the momentum on their side. However, Indiana has shown throughout the series that they aren't an easy out.
Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault got a legacy-defining performance from his star player in Game 4, but he'll need Gilgeous-Alexander to be even better moving forward.
Gilgeous-Alexander has had a historic 2024 campaign, as he has been the driving force of Oklahoma City's 68-14 squad and was rewarded with the MVP award. The 26-year-old has averaged 30.4 points per game and 6.3 assists per game on 47.4% shooting in the playoffs.
