Basketball fans will finally get their first look at Victor Wembanyama in a Spurs uniform when Las Vegas Summer League tips off on Friday, July 7.

The 19-year-old French phenom wasn't in attendance for the California Classic, which ran from July 3 to July 5. However, he will be making his debut on American soil when play gets underway in the Nevada desert.

The hype has been building for months ahead of Wembanyama's first official game as an NBA player. On June 22, he was taken with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 draft after a glittering four-year spell in France. His first matchup in the United States will come against No. 2 overall pick Brandon Miller and the Charlotte Hornets.

Here's everything you need to know as the Spurs compete in the 2023 NBA Summer League.

The schedule features two notable games against Miller and his Charlotte teammates. The Hornets were agonizingly close to securing the top overall pick (and Wembanyama) at this year's draft lottery, but they fell one spot short.

The Spurs will also face off against No. 3 overall pick Scoot Henderson when they take on the Blazers on July 9. They will close their Summer League campaign between July 15 and July 17, depending on their performance.

Spurs 2023 Summer League roster

The Spurs' 17-man roster for the California Classic features several players that suited up for the team in the NBA last season, including Blake Wesley, Malaki Branham and Julian Champagnie. They are joined on the roster by Cissoko, whom the Spurs selected at No. 44 overall in this year's draft.

It's important to note this is just the roster for the California Classic. The roster could change before the team travels to Las Vegas.
