Since Greece has already secured a berth in the Round of 16, they have ruled out their star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo for their remaining games against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EuroBasket group stage.
Senior editor at Sports24, Harris Stavrou, first reported that the Bucks star was out because of a back injury. Two hours later, he reported the reason as a knee injury.

Greece's official injury report has also confirmed that Giannis is not playing because of knee discomfort. However, they didn't disclose the origin and severity of the injury. The decision could also be a precautionary measure so that the "Greek Freak" has ample rest ahead of the next stage of the tournament.
Giannis' impact in EuroBasket 2025
Giannis Antetokounmpo has made his presence felt at the ongoing EuroBasket 2025 with a dominant display one game after another. His first official group stage appearance came against Italy, where he guided Greece to a convincing 75-66 victory. He finished the game with 31 points, seven assists and seven rebounds. He shot efficiently 70% (14/20 FG) in just 29 minutes.
A few days later, he played against Georgia. In just 25 minutes, he poured in 27 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished four assists and swiped two steals. Greece registered a lopsided 94-53 win and clinched an early spot in the Round of 16.
In the ongoing tournament, Giannis is averaging around 29.0 points per game, tying him in second place in scoring alongside Lauri Markkanen and behind only Luka Dončić. Previously, at EuroBasket 2022, he led all scorers with 29.3 ppg.
