Warriors vs. Mavericks Game 4 delayed; leaks in American Airlines Center roof hold up start of second half image

The American Airlines Center sprung a leak.

Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors was delayed at halftime because the American Airlines Center had multiple leaks in the roof. The water was dripping down rapidly and falling right next to Golden State's bench.

So much water was on the court that TNT's Kevin Harlan quipped that "all the towels" in the arena were used to soak it up.

As Reggie Miller mentions on the broadcast, Dallas has been deluged by heavy rain as of late and that heavily contributed to the leaks in the roof of the Mavericks' home arena.

Amazingly, this is the second time this season that a game has been delayed in Dallas because of a roof leak. Back in March, a game between the Mavericks and Timberwolves was delayed because of a similar leak. That issue ended up delaying the start of the game by 15 minutes. Game 4 ended up having a similar delay as halftime was extended for 16 extra minutes.

Somewhat coincidental, this is second time in the history of the Warriors that the team has had to deal with a rain delay. Back in 1994, a matchup between the Spurs and Warriors in San Antonio was delayed by 50 minutes after a water cannon went off by accident.

At the half, Dallas was up by 15 points on the Warriors with the halftime score of 62-47.
