Suns reportedly have no interest in Knicks star in potential Kevin Durant trade image

Kevin Durant is widely expected to be traded this offseason despite putting forth a stellar 2024-25 campaign. The 15-time All-Star has been linked to several teams as the Phoenix Suns are reportedly looking to get under the second apron.

One of the teams that has consistently come up in rumors is the New York Knicks. While there have been several reports suggesting that the two teams could swap All-Star talents, that may not be something the Suns are interested in.

"I have heard that the Suns don't have interest in Karl-Anthony Towns," 98.7 FM Phoenix's John Gambadoro shared Thursday. "I did hear that today. I was told today that they wouldn't have interest... I was told today that with the Knicks, more likely, they would like an OG Anunoby or Mikal Bridges, but not a Karl-Anthony Towns."

Gambadoro noted that there has not been any talks about trading the 2013-14 MVP yet, however, now that the Suns have hired a coach they will begin the process of shopping him. Durant appeared in 62 games this season, averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 52.7% from the field, 43.0% from three-point range and 83.9% from the free-throw line.

While the Knicks would likely prefer to keep Anunoby and Bridges -- two of their best defenders -- in a potential Durant deal, Phoenix's lack of interest in Towns may complicate those plans. New York is fresh off of their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in a quarter century, and they could take a big swing for the future Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer in an attempt to win their first title in over five decades.
