Are the New York Knicks planning a massive summer trade?
New York fell six wins short of an NBA title this season. The franchise has excelled in the Jalen Brunson era, but it’s still hungry for more, and roster adjustments might be needed.
With Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant rumored to be on the move, the Knicks have naturally been linked to KD.
On Tuesday, Forbes’ Evan Sidery speculated that New York could move Mikal Bridges back to Phoenix as part of a Durant deal.
“Mikal Bridges becomes eligible for a four-year, $156 million extension this offseason,” Sidery posted to X.
“Unless Bridges takes a discount, the Knicks could look to move him for a star. A potential re-trade of Bridges and necessary salaries to the Suns for Kevin Durant is an idea being floated.”

Sidery also reminded Knicks fans about the massive haul that New York traded to the Brooklyn Nets to acquire Bridges last July.
“A look back at what draft picks the Knicks traded the Nets for Mikal Bridges:
No. 19 overall pick
No. 26 overall pick
No. 36 overall pick
2027 unprotected 1st
2028 unprotected swap
2029 unprotected 1st
2031 unprotected 1st.”
Bridges had a solid 2024-25. In the regular season, the former Villanova Wildcat played all 82 games, averaging 17.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 0.9 steals per contest, with a 50.0 percent field goal percentage and 35.4 percent from three, playing 37.0 minutes per game. Notable performances included 41 points against the San Antonio Spurs on December 25 and a buzzer-beating three on March 12.
In the playoffs, Bridges averaged 15.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.2 steals, contributing key defensive plays, including a game-winning steal and block in the conference semifinals against the Boston Celtics.
Bridges, the ultimate iron man, has never missed a game in his NBA career. But will he be wearing a different uniform in 2025-26?
