Not every player receives a second chance with an organization.
A 25-year-old former lottery pick appeared in six games with the New York Knicks last season, but won’t return to the franchise after reportedly agreeing to a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.
“If everything goes as expected, MarJon Beauchamp will sign a contract with the Sixers,” The Philly Inquirer’s Keith Pompey reported Sunday. “Sources have said the 6-foot-6 small forward has agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Sixers.”
Beauchamp, who the Portland Trail Blazers recently waived, has yet to experience a breakout campaign in the big leagues.
The Yakima, Washington native elected to forgo college basketball and begin his professional career with the G-League Ignite.
Beauchamp averaged 15.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in 24 contests with the developmental squad, helping him land with the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2022 NBA Draft (No. 24 overall pick).

However, the former five-star recruit has only played in 135 regular-season games through three seasons and isn’t considered a long-term investment asset.
Beauchamp contributed 2.5 points, 1.3 rebounds, 0.3 rebounds, and 0.1 steals with the Knicks last season after signing with the franchise in March.
Luckily for Beauchamp, his NBA career is far from over after Pompey’s recent report.
