The top player in the NBA potentially on the move this offseason is Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The Bucks fell in the first round of the postseason for the third consecutive time in 2025, which could prompt Antetokounmpo to request a trade. He's been loyal to Milwaukee since they selected him in the 2013 NBA Draft, but it may be time to give up that feeling and pursue championships elsewhere.
NBA insider Brian Windhorst made a huge announcement regarding Antetokounmpo's possible next home, listing two teams that may pursue a trade on ESPN's Get Up.
"I want to point two teams out to you: the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets," Windhorst began. "Both of them are in the lottery. I know Houston is still playing, [but] they're in the lottery, they have Phoenix's pick, and they have a whole bunch of pieces on their roster. What if they hop up into that top four? Look out there."
The Rockets are one of the most discussed suitors for the two-time MVP, and it's easy to see why. For Antetokounmpo, he joins one of the top teams in the Western Conference, but they do not have a true No. 1 option, which is a void he could fill right away. Milwaukee, on the other hand, could convince Houston to part with a plethora of draft capital and young talent in return.
"The other one is the San Antonio Spurs. They have two picks in this lottery now. Combined, there is only a 30% chance of getting in the top four," Windhorst said. "What if one of them does? What if both do? All of a sudden, you've got San Antonio with Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, and potentially a game-changing draft pick with the rookie of the year, Stephon Castle, sitting there as well."

Unless San Antonio prefers to continue building out their roster through the draft, this is a no-brainer. A frontcourt duo of Wembanyama and Antetokounmpo would cause nightmares for their opponents on both ends of the floor while they also have Fox to run a fast-paced offense.
"So first we're going to watch the lottery, so is Giannis. After that, we're going to reevaluate, but we're going to see a lot of things present themselves for the Bucks and Giannis over this next month," Windhorst concluded.
Not only does Windhorst talk to many around the league, but the Spurs and Rockets are also two of the most logical destinations for Antetokounmpo.
