The Milwaukee Bucks have had analysts combing over stats and records to see what team would be his best spot to land, and most have been the same; the Houston Rockets, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Miami Heat.

However, there is one team that could be perfect for Antetokounmpo to slide right in and compete for a title in the San Antonio Spurs, proposed by NBA analyst Frank Michael Smith.

“And nobody is in a better position than the Spurs,” Smith said. “They’re the only franchise with 2 lottery tickets, and if Milwaukee decides a rebuild is the best way to go, they’ll want to start as soon as possible. What better way than a double admission to one of the best drafts in the last decade?”

Smith took it a step further, and also addressed the players that San Antonio would be willing to give up.

“The Spurs core is nothing to sneeze at. Guys like [Devin] Vassell, Keldon Johnson, and [Jeremy] Sochan aren’t stars, but they’re valuable pieces to mix in with the picks,” Smith stated.

Smith ended with a hypothetical if the deal does go through, and it looks pretty awesome for the Spurs.

“Let’s say the deal does happen. The Spurs top 4 instantly becomes deadly. They’ll trot out back-to-back Rookies of the Year, a two-time MVP, and an All-Star point guard. It’s by far the best basketball situation of the bunch, and even though he’s coming off a less-than-ideal living situation in Milwaukee, I think Giannis will prioritize basketball over lifestyle, and find his way to San Antonio,” Smith concluded.

Smith is definitely right. If the Spurs could make that exact deal happen, there aren’t many spots that Antetokounmpo could go that would give him a better chance. Plus, the Bucks would get a haul in return to jumpstart their rebuild. If both teams are smart, they’ll get on the phone after the lottery is done and work up a deal.
