The Milwaukee Bucks front office is building out the club's full training camp roster as the 2025-26 preseason nears.

Milwaukee continues to bolster its depth through what has been a challenging summer for the club.

After nine-time All-Star point guard Damian Lillard ruptured his Achilles tendon during the first round of the playoffs this spring, Milwaukee general manager Jon Horst opted to stretch and waive the 6-foot-2 Weber State product's remaining contract and free up cap room.

A busy summer for the Bucks

Horst signed former Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner and ex-Orlando Magic guards Cole Anthony and Gary Harris, while re-signing all his key free agents not named Brook Lopez. The reconstituted Bucks do at least have a better fighting chance than they would have with Lillard taking up a roster spot and not playing, but they feel a tier below the top dogs in the Eastern Conference.

On Wednesday, the team announced that has signed former University of North Carolina shooting guard Cormac Ryan. Presumably it will be an Exhibit 10 training camp deal, as all of the Bucks' standard and two-way roster spots are currently occupied.

Ryan began his collegiate career at Stanford in 2018-19, first transferred to Notre Dame and then finally to North Carolina.

Across 36 contests for the Tar Heels (34 starts) during his final season of NCAA eligibility, 2023-24, Ryan averaged 11.5 points on .382/.354/.874 shooting splits, 2.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.7 steals a night. He was a career 35.2 percent shooter from distance in college.

Ryan, now 26, went undrafted in 2024, and has been tooling away in the G League ever since.

The 6-foot-5 swingman spent his first pro season, 2024-25, with the Oklahoma City Thunder's G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue. He suited up for Milwaukee's Summer League team this summer, so this deal isn't wholly unexpected.

Eric Nehm of The Athletic confirms that his sources have told him it is indeed an Exhibit 10 training camp agreement for Ryan.

Should Ryan be cut from the Bucks roster and signed by the team's NBAGL affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, for at least 60 days, he'll be eligible for a bonus worth as much as $85,300.

In five Las Vegas Summer League bouts for Milwaukee, Ryan averaged 11.8 points on a middling .326/.250/.917 slash line, plus 2.4 boards, 1.6 dimes and 1.2 steals per.

He'll join Bucks Exhibit 9 signing Amir Coffey on a training camp deal.  Bucks guard Andre Jackson Jr. is technically on the club's standard roster, but has a partially guaranteed deal. Coffey and Jackson may be competing for a standard roster spot (none are currently available, but Milwaukee could waive someone). Currently, Pete Nance, Jamaree Bouyea and Mark Sears occupy the Bucks' three two-way slots.

Ryan will most likely find himself on an affiliate deal with the Herd, but in theory could be competing for one of Nance, Bouyea or Sears' two-way spots.
