LeBron James sat down on Monday to complete his twenty-third media day.
Now that he and Luka Dončić are teammates, they have an increasingly larger chance at winning a title.
However, this didn’t seem to matter to James, and when he was asked if Dončić would affect his retirement, he had a pretty straightforward answer.
“Zero,” James said Monday.
“The motivation to play alongside him every night, that’s super motivating, that’s what I train my body for.”
“As far as me, him, and some of my other teammates on how far I’ll go in my career, no, it will be my decision along with my wife.”

James and Luka have only been together for 28 games, so it is hard to say what their dynamic on the court will look like.
Of course, they are two of the most talented players ever to play, but it seems the trade for Dončić was primarily to prepare for a time without James on the roster.
Interestingly, before his son Bronny James entered the league, he was holding out to make history and become the first player to play with his son.
However, it is not the same case for his other son, Bryce James.
Maybe this is a signal that the 21-time All-Star notices himself slowing down.
Dončić and James seem to have meshed well so far, as James had expressed before they were teammates that Dončić was one of his favorite players.
Despite that being true, James will not let Luka’s arrival on this team affect his retirement decision.
