Luka Doncic has had a crazy week. After playing in back-to-back games for the Lakers on Sunday and Monday, Luka Doncic took a 12-hour flight back home to Slovenia in order to be there for the birth of his second daughter.

After missing two games, against both the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics, Doncic was back in the United States again in time for Los Angeles' next road game in Philadelphia.

Returning from a brief break, Doncic posted a monster triple-double, scoring 31 points to go along with 15 rebounds and 11 assists.

After returning to the team, Doncic expressed gratitude toward the organization for allowing him to return to Slovenia.

Following his departure, head coach JJ Redick opened up about his experience welcoming a child during his NBA career. “[I] somehow came to the gym every day with more energy than I thought was possible despite sleeping in two-hour segments for five or six hours,” Redick said. “So hopefully it would be [the same] with Luka.”

Thus far, Doncic has shown no signs of stopping. In 17 games for Los Angeles this season, Doncic has led the league in scoring with 35 points per game along with 9.2 rebounds, 9.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Additionally, Doncic is leading the league in both field-goals made per game and free throws made per game.

Doncic and the Lakers will return home to face the San Antonio Spurs in the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup before leaving for another three-game road trip.
