Last night in Philadelphia, the Los Angeles Lakers played the last game of their three-game road stretch. It was a tightly contested matchup that came down to LeBron James making outstanding back-to-back plays.

It was the first game in a while that the Lakers had all three of their stars, as Luka Dončić has been out of the country for the birth of his second daughter, and LeBron James had missed the previous game due to injury management.

Although Austin Reaves had a lackluster performance, Dončić had a monster triple-double, going for 31 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists, and LeBron James turned back the clock, going for 29 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

With LeBron having his first showing where he truly looked like himself, it made people ponder exactly what this team could look like.

One NBA insider says LeBron could fill his role this season better than anyone in NBA history ever has.

Marc Spears says LeBron is going to be the greatest 3rd option in NBA history

With LeBron looking like his old self, it does raise an interesting question. If LeBron James is the Lakers' third option after Dončić and Reaves, is he the greatest third option of all time?

The answer is unequivocally yes. Marc Spears seems to think so as well.

Having a player of LeBron James' caliber, even in year 23, as your third option is absurd. It speaks to his longevity as well as the talent level of both Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves this season.

Even if LeBron can manage to average 20 PPG, 7 RPG, and 7 APG, that being the Lakers’ third option should worry any team in the league, even OKC.

When the playoffs roll around, I do not envy the teams that will have to pick who they should guard out of those three.
