There have been plenty of debates regarding the greatest basketball player of all-time. While legends such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson have a case, the three names most often brought up are Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
A former Los Angeles Lakers champion, who spent two seasons as teammates with James at various points in their respective careers, weighed in on the discussion. Danny Green appeared on the "All the Smoke" podcast, where he was asked to rank the three legends.
"My GOAT is MJ," three-time NBA champion Danny Green stated. "I think Bron has had the greatest career of all-time. I'm going to go one and two. MJ and then Bron. It's tough to put Kob' three because, I think, as a young kid, I always liked Mike so much, I thought Kob' was just the imitation of Mike. It was like he's not Mike so I kind of -- I wouldn't say I hated on him, but yeah. But I appreciated him more once I got to the league, played against him and then years -- just seeing how many years he's played. And then after of seeing how his mind worked and his footwork -- unbelievable. I think he probably is the most skilled out of all three. Mike was just -- he did one move, you ain't stopping it. I'm going to keep doing it. I'm going to shoot 60% doing it. I'm going to get to the free-throw line. Kob' probably is the most skilled out of those three."

Green spent his rookie season playing alongside James with the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he played sparingly. The two later teamed up on the Lakers, where he was a starter and helped the franchise win the 2019-20 title.
Debates regarding the greatest of the three players have dominated sports talk in recent years. While many former players have leaned towards Jordan or Bryant, James is still carving out his legacy as he is set to break the NBA record by playing in his 23rd season in 2025-26.
