James Harden and Chris Paul will be teammates once again.

The dynamic guard duo teamed up for two seasons with the Houston Rockets in the late 2010s (2017-19), nearly making an NBA finals appearance in 2018.

Harden spent the 2024-25 campaign with the Los Angeles Clippers, while Paul competed with the San Antonio Spurs.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Harden and Paul will get another chance to reach the promised land while competing alongside each other.

“Twelve-time All-Star Chris Paul has agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers,” Charania reported Monday. “Paul had multiple suitors, but chose the contending Clippers and their shared history in L.A. for his likely final, 21st NBA season.”

Not only is Paul reuniting with Harden, he’s also returning to a Clippers squad that helped shape his NBA career.

Although Paul underachieved mightily in Los Angeles from a postseason success standpoint, he was a key contributor for the high-flying Western Conference squad that earned the nickname ‘Lob City’.

The Wake Forest product averaged a double-double during three of his five campaigns with the Clippers.

That said, it’s worth noting that Harden and the Clippers won’t be receiving the same Paul they were accustomed to in the past.

At 40 years old, the 6-foot guard can still orchestrate the pick-and-roll beautifully, but isn’t the same offensive star he once was.

Still, there’s no question that Paul made the right decision to spend the final leg of his career with a franchise that respects him dearly.
