Following his vintage 46-point performance in a 125-120 victory over Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors' 4-time NBA champion Stephen Curry reportedly split from his longtime shoe partner, Under Armour, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
"Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry and Under Armour have parted ways, ending their longstanding partnership. Curry's standalone endeavor Curry Brand will move forward independently," Charania shared via X/Twitter on Wednesday.
"Curry's shoes through Under Armour will continue as planned through 2026, but he and his company Curry Brand are entering sneaker free agency."
The reported departure from Under Armour comes as a shock, as the 17-year veteran originally signed with the sports apparel giant in 2013 before inking a new agreement in Mar. 2023 to stay on board with the company throughout his post-NBA career.
Prior to joining the Under Armour umbrella and subsequently launching his own standalone Curry Brand venture, the future Hall of Fame point guard famously walked out of a meeting with Nike in 2013 as a result of several key mistakes, including his name being mispronounced as "Stephon" during a presentation.
Curry has released 12 signature shoes with Under Armour throughout the years, and the Curry 13 is slated to be the final shoe release with the company in Feb. 2026, according to CNBC.
