Dwyane Wade has fired back at Dallas Mavericks part-owner Mark Cuban over his recent comments suggesting that the 2006 NBA Finals between Wade’s Miami Heat, and the Mavericks was rigged.
Per DLLS Mavericks, last week, Cuban entertained the discussion of the series being phony in a referent interview.
“I’ll take that to my grave that it was stolen from us,” Cuban said.

Naturally, this comment has sparked a ton of attention. The results of the 2006 Finals have always been brought into question, especially given disgraced referee Tim Donaghy’s involvement. Nonetheless, Cuban’s comments caught the attention of Dwyane Wade, who was not happy to see Cuban dismissing his accomplishment.
“You’re not about to tarnish the work I put in as a young guy, to do something not a lot of young guys have done in this game and say it’s rigged,” Wade said on the Wy Network podcast.
Wade was named Finals MVP in 2006 after a stellar performance that established himself as one of the league’s brightest talents at the time. In the series, he averaged 34.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game to earn his first of three career NBA championships.
Heading into this upcoming season, the Mavericks will be looking to make their own history as they enter the season as a potential title contender in the Western Conference despite trading Luka Doncic at last season’s trade deadline.
