Despite the injuries the Cleveland Cavaliers have faced to start the 2025-26 NBA season, they've still been one of the better teams in the league at 8-4. The Cavaliers are in second place in the Eastern Conference and look poised to finish with a top-two seed once again.
However, there's also reason to believe that the Cavaliers could use some help on both sides of the basketball, and if they decide to move on from any player in the future, it could be Darius Garland.
The idea of moving on from Garland might not make much sense considering the Cavaliers' current situation and the fact that they’re not a better team without him on the court, but some still believe he could be the first one traded.
That includes Zach Buckley and Bleacher Report, who recently proposed a very intriguing trade idea for Franz Wagner of the Orlando Magic.
What would a trade look like?
The trade: Darius Garland to the Orlando Magic for Franz Wagner
“Admittedly, a Garland blockbuster is almost certainly more dramatic than anything Cleveland is considering,” he wrote.
"That said, a marginal move wouldn't change much for the Cavaliers, so if they're forced to make a move—as this exercise demands—why not go for broke with the ultimate challenge trade?”

The Magic have struggled to start the year at 6-6, but it’d still be very surprising to see them move on from a player of Wagner's caliber.
He's been one of the better players in the NBA and arguably the best player on the Magic over the past few years.
