The Brooklyn Nets have been waiting for another superstar to want to play in Brooklyn. After the disappointing trio of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden all departed, they’ve been in NBA purgatory.

They don’t have a young player to build around and have tons of draft assets that are fueling Nets trade rumors. The Nets have been linked in Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors as well.

Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report proposed one Nets-Giannis trade that could change Brooklyn’s future.

“Brooklyn Nets Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Milwaukee Bucks Receive: Michael Porter Jr., 2027 first-round pick (top-1 protected), 2027 first-round pick (via NYK), 2029 first-round pick (top-1 protected), 2029 first-round pick (via HOU), 2031 first-round pick (top-1 protected)

Why Brooklyn does it: The Nets have picks to burn and the need for a superstar, but sending out all this draft capital for Antetokounmpo would admittedly be a massive pivot. The most important component of a quality roster is a superstar, though, and the Nets would certainly be getting one in Giannis.

Other constructions sending out Nicolas Claxton and smaller salaries could be in play if Brooklyn prefers to keep Porter Jr.'s shooting on the floor next to Antetokounmpo, but shipping out MPJ's two years and $79 million substantially clears the books to sign a second star next summer or make a lopsided trade for one prior to this year's deadline.”

This is the type of Giannis trade package that the Bucks could be interested in. Getting a ton of draft capital would help the Bucks move into their next era without Giannis.

For the Nets, this is a no-brainer. They have to give up recently acquired Michael Porter Jr., and a ton of draft capital, but for Giannis, it is totally worth it.
