The Boston Celtics are making the final roster moves to get ready for the 2025-26 season. The Celtics are in an interesting position, being just one season removed from an NBA championship, they don’t project to contend for a title this season.
Jayson Tatum’s Achilles injury looks like it will have him out for the season. The Celtics' free agency moves were largely based on the team getting under the salary cap during a year when they probably won’t win a championship.
The Celtics will likely be checking out different cheap young talent during this season to see if anyone can become a valuable long-term piece.
One player who won’t be getting that opportunity is Miles Norris.
The Celtics announced Sunday that they are waiving the undrafted forward. Norris played in just three games for the Celtics last season (his rookie year). He averaged 2.3 points, three rebounds, and zero assists in those games.
He shot only 28.6% from three. He was much more impressive in his G-League minutes last season. Norris played in 30 total G-League games, averaging 16.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game. His shooting was much more efficient, nailing nearly 40% of his threes.

Still, there’s no surprise that he isn’t going to make the cut for the Celtics this season. He is already 25 years old and didn’t necessarily shine in his limited opportunities last season. The Celtics will be looking for other promising young players to make an impact on the end of their bench for next season.
