The Atlanta Hawks released their training camp roster on Friday, and there was an intriguing name on the list.

He won't be familiar to too many basketball fans on this side of the Atlantic Ocean, but he's already a proven champion.

The player: Eli Ndiaye.

He's a 6-foot-8 forward originally from Senegal who spent the past four seasons playing for Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid.

With Real Madrid, Ndiaye won three league championships, three Spanish Supercup titles and a EuroLeague championship.

Ndiaye had his best season with Real Madrid in 2024-25. He played 14.0 minutes per game and averaged 3.6 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.

He's still just 21 years old, having made his professional debut at the age of 17.

The Hawks signed Ndiaye to a two-way contract, so he'll likely spend some of the season in the G League with the College Park Skyhawks.

But he seems a legitimate talent, and he earned lots of accolades at youth level in Spain.

He's certainly a name worth knowing for Hawks fans. There could be some definite upside here.
