Will Bo Bichette play vs. Yankees? Blue Jays reveal ALDS roster with key missing pieces image

The Toronto Blue Jays released their ADLS roster on Saturday morning ahead of Game 1 against the New York Yankees on Saturday afternoon.

Although, there were some notable names missing from the list that will have Toronto a bit shorthanded against their division rivals.

Despite the Blue Jays being the No. 1 seed in the American League, the Yankees are the favorites to win the AL pennant, and the Blue Jays road to the World Series just became more difficult.

Bo Bichette, Others Left off ALDS roster vs. Yankees

The Blue Jays will be without star shortstop Bo Bichette, and starting pitching Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt.

All three players have played key roles in the Blue Jays run for the No. 1 seed this season and will be missed.

Bichette has been out with a PCL strain in his left knee since early September. The Blue Jays shortstop injured his knee on Sept. 6 and has been out ever since.

On Friday, manager John Schneider spoke with the media, but didn't seem optimistic his star would be ready to return for the ALDS.

"I'll never put anything past Bo, in terms of when people say he can't do something, and him proving them wrong," Schneider said. "It's a big couple of days for him obviously."

Bichette was labeled as "day-to-day," but was left off the roster this morning and will now be unavailable for the Division Series.

As for the other notable names left off the roster, Toronto will be without Scherzer, Bassitt and first baseman Ty France.

Scherzer has been dealing with right thumb inflammation. Bassitt has been dealing with back inflammation, and France has been dealing with left oblique inflammation.

The Blue Jays added Anthony Santander to the roster in France's absence and opted for two left-handed pitchers without Scherzer and Bassitt.

The Blue Jays get underway in the ALDS against the Yankees on Saturday afternoon in Toronto.
