The Toronto Blue Jays are coming off a heartbreaking loss in the World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Now, free agency is underway, which could see the team losing key players—or holding onto them. One name to watch is Bo Bichette, who boosted his market value with his World Series performance.

“Can confirm Bo Bichette has received interest from multiple teams who view him as a second baseman or third baseman, due to the presence of an established shortstop on those rosters. Further evidence that the World Series augmented his value in the marketplace,” MLB insider Jon Morosi posted.

Bichette helped his contract stock by hitting exceptionally well in the World Series. He could command a deal approaching $200 million over possibly seven years.

“The key question facing Bichette's free agency is how teams will view him positionally. If a club is willing to stomach his shortstop defense, then the comparison to Willy Adames' agreement with the Giants (seven years, $182 million) is a good reference point. I'm going to assume that will be the case, at least in the short term. I'll add in some extra coin because of Bichette's age advantage and inflation. Seven years, $189 million ($27 million AAV),” CBS Sports’ RJ Anderson wrote.

When it comes to free agency, CBS Sports’ Matt Snyder believes Bichette will re-sign with the Blue Jays.

“After the run to the World Series, the Blue Jays have plenty of incentive to keep Bichette around and also the cash on hand to pay what it takes. He's not going anywhere,” Snyder wrote.

Keeping Bichette in Toronto just makes sense. He has already expressed his desire to stay with the Blue Jays, so securing a deal shouldn’t be difficult for the front office.

The key for the Blue Jays is maintaining their core group. Doing so will be critical for future success. The team’s chemistry is at an all-time high, which could further encourage Bichette to remain in Toronto.
