The Toronto Blue Jays lost a heartbreaker in Game 7 of the 2025 World Series. After Bo Bichette's massive three-run home run, the Blue Jays couldn't muster much more offense, leading to the game reaching extra innings.
But the lack of offense wasn't the only reason for the Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers reaching extra innings. After Max Muncy's eighth-inning home run to make it a one-run game, the Blue Jays sent out Jeff Hoffman to close out the game.
However, he gave up a game-tying home run to Miguel Rojas, blowing the four-out save opportunity to win the World Series. After the game, Ryan Wolstat of The Toronto Sun shared Hoffman's candid, NSFW reaction to his blown save.
Hoffman's NSFW message on blown save
"I cost everyone in here a World Series ring," Hoffman said. "It feels pretty (expletive)."

While the home run Hoffman gave up blew the lead for the Blue Jays, sending it to extra innings, the loss doesn't solely fall on his shoulders.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blue Jays had the bases loaded with one out, and couldn't plate a runner. They had a chance later in the game in the 11th to tie it, but Alejandro Kirk grounded into a double-play.
Chris Bassitt and Trey Yesavage, in their relief appearances, both allowed solo home runs. Max Scherzer also allowed one run in his 4.1 innings of work, and later, Shane Bieber gave up the game-winning home run to Will Smith.
Hoffman's home run was a mistake, but he wasn't the sole reason the Blue Jays lost the World Series. There were base-running mistakes throughout the series, and there were too many missed opportunities for Toronto.
While Hoffman believes he cost the Blue Jays a World Series, many other players and moments contributed to the heartbreaking loss.
That was just Hoffman's second earned run allowed this postseason; he wasn't the reason the Blue Jays lost the World Series. He played a part in the loss, but the blame can't fall solely on his shoulders, despite his self-deprecatory comments.
