The Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros started a critical three-game series on Monday night. Texas was just two games back of Houston in the standings entering the game.

Well, the Astros won the game over the Rangers 6-3. With the win for Houston, they improve to 82-69 and Texas falls to 79-72. The Rangers trail the Astros by three games now in the standings. Houston trails the Seattle Mariners by 0.5 games for first place in the American League West standings. With the Rangers playoff chances potentially in danger, fans were getting critical of manager Bruce Bochy.

Texas Rangers Fans Disappointed with Manager Bruce Bochy After Loss

Even though Bochy was the manager during the 2023 season where Texas won the world series, fans were critical of him after the loss against the Astros. Texas is in danger of missing the playoffs for the second straight season. This fanbase understands that Bochy has made some decisions this season that has not turned out in his favor.

Texas can still turn it around, but there is not much time left in the season. The Rangers are going to have to win the next two games against the Astros if they are going to have any chance to make the playoffs. If Texas loses at least one more game in this series, there playoff chances will continue to diminish.

Bochy is currently in the final year of his three-year deal that he signed in 2022 during the offseason. He is 70 years old. With Texas on the verge of missing the playoffs again, there is a chance that the Rangers may not bring him back next season. If they were to bring him back, the odds are that it would most likely be on a one-year deal.
