Miles Mikolas has been with the St. Louis Cardinals since the 2018 season. During that time, he has largely turned heads with his presence on the mound, earning two All-Star selections in 2018 and 2022.

However, over the last two seasons, he has struggled to maintain his dominance. This season, he has started 26 games, compiling a 6-10 record with a 5.04 ERA across 130.1 innings of work.

Mikolas is an impending free agent, and his future in St. Louis could be up. Bleacher Report's Tim Kelly predicts that the veteran pitcher will sign elsewhere during the upcoming offseason.

"Mikolas was once an excellent pitcher for the Cardinals, but while he's continued to eat innings, he has a 5.04 ERA over the lifetime of his three-year, $55.75 million deal," said Kelly. "If the 37-year-old hopes to continue his career, it's going to have to be elsewhere."

Where could Miles Mikolas end up next season?

Each year, there is never a shortage of teams looking to add a veteran pitcher to help stabilize their rotation. That will be the case again this upcoming free agency period, and Miles Mikolas fits that description perfectly.

One team that could be on the lookout here is the Texas Rangers. They have several starting pitchers who are impending free agents, like Jon Gray and Tyler Mahle.

Another team to watch out for is the Detroit Tigers. They also have several impending free agent pitchers like Jack Flaherty, Matthew Boyd, and Chris Paddack, and Mikolas could fill one of those spots if either signs elsewhere.
