The Seattle Mariners have won the American League West division for the first time since the 2001 season. They will now head to the postseason for the first time since 2022 after they lost the AL Divisional Series to the Houston Astros

Seattle has the opportunity to get some rest while the Wild Card teams battle it out. They will wait patiently to see who wins the series between the Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Guardians and take on that team on Saturday.

Seattle holds home-field advantage, so Saturday and Sunday's games will be at T-Mobile Park. However, Sunday's game could cause a disturbance in the NFL.

Sunday's game could cause a disturbance as the Seattle Seahawks also play a home game. With T-Mobile Park and Lumen Field being so close to each other, having both teams playing at the same time is not very suitable.

The Mariners have priorities for game times when it comes to the postseason, so the Seahawks could get the short end of the stick by seeing their game time being moved. However, coach Mike Macdonald does not believe pushing his game back would cause any issues, via the Seattle Times' Bob Condotta

"From what I understand, it's not that big of a move," said Macdonald. "So we would adjust our morning schedule accordingly. It's really no big deal. It's actually kind of great that we're going to be forced to move. I think it's awesome for our city and it's going to be a really exciting Sunday."

All in all, Macdonald knows his team can handle the schedule change and is excited for what could be a great day for those in Seattle. Macdonald and the rest of the city will keep their fingers crossed for taking home wins for their home crowds.
