Is Bryan Woo pitching in the Mariners' ALDS series vs. the Tigers? image

The Detroit Tigers are set to square off against the Seattle Mariners in the ALDS. Game one is Saturday at 8:30 P.M. EST, and the official rosters have been released for both teams.

The major development for the Mariners is starting pitcher Bryan Woo. Is he going to be a part of the pitching staff for Seattle? He got injured on September 19, when he left a start due to pectoral tightness.

Woo was not placed on the Injured List, which is what makes this such a major decision.

Bryan Woo left off the Mariners' ALDS roster

According to Adam Jude of the Seattle Times, Bryan Woo will not be on the Mariners' ALDS roster. It is a huge blow to Seattle's staff.

If the Mariners were to advance, there is a more likely chance that Woo could start in the ALCS, Jude also notes.

The diagnosis at this moment is pectoral inflammation, but more details will emerge when manager Dan Wilson speaks to the media following the team's game one against the Tigers.

Woo has really had a breakout campaign this season. He made 30 starts and posted a 2.94 ERA and 198 strikeouts. This no doubt magnifies the Mariners' current starters to perform just a little bit better in this upcoming series. Seattle will take on CY Young frontrunner Tarik Skubal in the second game of the series.
