Many believe that the Philadelphia Phillies could lose J.T. Realmuto in free agency.

From the sound of things, the Phillies' priority will be keeping Kyle Schwarber in town. Depending on what Schwarber’s contract comes out to, the Phillies might not be interested in giving much more money to any other player on the market.

Realmuto has been with the organization for seven seasons and has done some good things, but his age is certainly starting to show.

Phillies look to replace J.T. Realmuto

Despite that, many still believe that Realmuto has something left to prove in this league, including Jim Riley of BallCapSports. Riley thinks he could be a great addition to the Texas Rangers, predicting him to land with them.

"The Jonah Heim situation has reached a point where I could see them non-tendering him a contract and forgoing that final year of arbitration," Riley said. "It's gotten that bad with Heim and the bat and his work behind the plate. Give me the Rangers for J.T. Realmuto."

Over the past few seasons, the Rangers have demonstrated a willingness to add veterans to their roster when they believe it’ll benefit them.

Realmuto isn't the same player that he once was, but he still has a bit left in the tank, especially on the defensive side of the baseball. He has an OPS+ of 96, which is just slightly below the league average of 100. However, it'd be the worst in his career in any season he's played in more than 11 games since his second year in the league.

For a Rangers team that has a decent staff, they could view him as a decent piece to help the rotation.
