The Philadelphia Phillies are coming up on a pressing offseason. While they have their sights set on the NLDS, it is impossible not to think about who they could be without next season.

Kyle Schwarber, J.T. Realmuto, and Ranger Suarez are all hitting free agency once the playoffs end. Those are three huge assets that have played a key part in Philadelphia's success over the years.

They also have a problem at third base with Alec Bohm playing well below average. He has not played up to par offensively or defensively, and the club could look at making an improvement in that area over the winter.

The St. Louis Cardinals will go into the offseason looking to trade Nolan Arenado. They tried to do this last year, but he blocked a trade with the Houston Astros to stay in St. Louis.

He is expected to expand his list of teams he would be comfortable being a part of. With this information, Redbirds Rants Josh Jacobs points to the Phillies as being a potential suitor here.

"While Arenado is owed a ton of money right now, the Phillies would likely be able to acquire him at a very low payroll number, which would allow them to allocate dollars and assets elsewhere, rather than paying a pretty penny to upgrade their defense and possibly offense at third base."

Arenado would be a clear upgrade for Philadelphia, but at the end of the day, the decision comes down to him. His trade market will be something that fans will want to keep their eye on.
