The Philadelphia Phillies entered this offseason with a clear goal of re-signing Kyle Schwarber to a long-term extension.
While they couldn't get anything initially, the MLB Winter Meetings provided the spark needed to get a deal done.
According to ESPN insider Jeff Passan, the Phillies have signed Schwarber to a five-year deal. The contract details on this new deal for Schwarber are huge.
Passan reports that Schwarber is sticking in Philadelphia on a $150 million deal, paying the beloved Phillies designated hitter $30 million per year on one of the largest deals the Phillies have handed out in recent years.

This is a huge deal for the Phillies, not just because they're bringing Schwarber back, but for the investment made into Schwarber, a full-time designated hitter.
$150 million total is not a small deal, and it's a clear step-up from his $79 million, four-year deal he signed in 2022 with the Phillies.

After a very impressive 2025 season, Dave Dombrowski and the Phillies are rewarding Schwarber with a massive new deal, which will keep him under contract through the 2030 MLB season.
Schwarber hit 56 home runs and had 132 RBIs in 2025, leading the NL in both categories and all of MLB in RBIs.
The contract details on this extension, a $150 million total deal over the next five years, are not a small deal to offer a full-time DH. He's a beloved slugger and is now returning on a $30 million per year deal over the next five years.
