The AL Wild Card Series gets underway Tuesday evening with a classic rivalry clash, as the Yankees welcome the Red Sox to Yankee Stadium for a 6:08 p.m. ET first pitch.

Boston punched their ticket on the final day of the regular season, edging the Tigers 4-3 to lock up the No. 5 seed and the second Wild Card berth. New York also closed with a win, slipping past the Orioles 3-2, but with the Blue Jays clinching the division, the Yankees settled for the top Wild Card slot.

All three potential games in this best-of-three series will be staged under the lights at Yankee Stadium, starting Tuesday night. The Red Sox hold a 9-4 head-to-head edge from the regular season, including a 5-2 record in the Bronx — a stat that won’t go unnoticed heading into October.

Boston closed its campaign strong, winning four of the last six to finish 89-73. The Yankees, meanwhile, come in red-hot, riding an eight-game winning streak to polish off a 94-68 season.

At stake? A trip to the ALDS, where the winner will battle division champs Toronto in a best-of-five series.
