It won't quite be prime time when the Yankees and Red Sox begin their Wild Card series on Tuesday, but the matchup of bitter rivals figures to be the day's prime attraction. 

Though New York and Boston obviously have plenty of familiarity thanks to their regular AL East showdowns, this will be their first postseason meeting since 2021 and their first playoff series against one another since 2018. 

A pair of left-handers still new to the rivalry will take the ball for Tuesday's opening game. Postseason veteran Max Fried (19-5, 2.86 ERA) gets the start for the Yankees, while MLB strikeout leader Garrett Crochet (18-5, 2.59) will be on the mound for the Red Sox in his first playoff start.

Wednesday's Game 2 will start at the same time, and a potential Game 3 on Thursday will as well, though that could change depending how how other series play out.
