The Cubs and the Padres face off in a best-of-three series for a shot to move on in the National League bracket of the MLB postseason.

This is only the second time Chicago and San Diego have met in the postseason. The last time, the 1984 NLCS, the Padres took the series in five games on a walk-off home run from Steve Garvey.

Both sides are a bit banged up heading into this matchup. Padres right-handed batter Ramón Laureano broke his finger on Sept. 24, while the Cubs lost rookie pitcher Cade Horton with a rib fracture.

Manny Machado will be the man to watch in this contest for San Diego. He's batting .275 this season, including at least one hit in three of his past four contests.

Here is everything you need to know about Game 1 of the NL Wild Card between the Cubs and the Padres, including start time, TV channel, live stream and more.
