After a brief mid-season lull, the Tigers are back to looking like formidable World Series contenders.

Detroit has won nine of its last 11 games entering Friday's series opener against the Royals, which will air exclusively on Apple TV+.

The Tigers allowed a grand total of two runs in their recent three-game sweep of the Astros, buoyed by a stalwart pitching staff. Right-hander Casey Mize looks to keep things rolling on Friday; the All-Star will take the mound sporting a clean 12-4 record and a 3.63 ERA.

Mize contends with a Kansas City team that is subtly creeping back into the postseason picture; the Royals entered play on Thursday just 2.5 games back of the Mariners for the third and final wild card spot in the American League. They recently rattled off seven wins in an eight-game span, too.

Superstar shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. is propelling the team's latest surge, hitting .333 with a .990 OPS in August, by far his best month of the season to date.

Here's everything that you need to know about watching Tigers vs. Royals today, including TV and live stream information for "Friday Night Baseball."
