The Reds made massive improvements in 2023, jumping from a 62-100 season to 82-80. Still, they finished just short of a second playoff appearance since 2013. It could be their year now, though.

Nick Krall has received both criticism and praise for his offseason moves. Did he even out infield-heavy the roster? Not exactly, but it's a good thing already. Matt McLain aggravated his oblique during early spring training. Fortunately, it's not the exact same spot as what caused issues for him last year and is nothing long-term. Now, it's proved beneficial Krall signed Jonathan India to a two-year deal.

While the Reds have a young core in McLain and star Elly De La Cruz, they added vets like Jeimer Candelario and Frankie Montas. The added experience could be exactly what Cincinnati needs to get over the hump.

The new season already began in Goodyear, Arizona, and will continue there for the next month ahead of Opening Day.
