MLB

The 2025 MLB postseason field is down to eight.

The Dodgers, Yankees, Cubs and Tigers survived the Wild Card series to advance and will now face off against the top-seeded teams in the playoff bracket.

While the Phillies, Blue Jays, Brewers and Mariners undoubtedly appreciated the time to recuperate and reset their pitching rotations, recent years have shown that rest can turn to rust in a hurry.

Over the past three seasons, half of the teams that advanced to the League Championship Series had already played in the Wild Card round.

How will the ALDS and NLDS play out this season? We won't have to wait long to find out.

Is there an MLB playoff game today?

There are no MLB playoff games on Friday, Oct. 3.

Friday is a travel day for the lower-seeded teams, with play in all four Division Series set to begin Saturday, Oct. 4.
