For the first time since 2018, the National League Championship Series returns to Milwaukee.
American Family Field is the setting for Game 1 on Monday night, as the 97-win Brewers host the defending-champion Dodgers to kickstart the best-of-seven series.
L.A. has a few candidates to start Game 1, among them left-hander Blake Snell. Through two starts, Snell has pitched to a 1.38 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 13 innings, overpowering hitters with a wicked four-pitch arsenal. He last pitched in Game 2 of the NLDS against the Phillies.
While the Dodgers are teeming with stalwart starting pitchers, the Brewers have fewer options. Two of their three victories over the Cubs in the NLDS came by way of a bullpen game, with All-Star closer Trevor Megill drawing the start in the decisive Game 5. Right-hander Quinn Priester and lefty Jose Quintana could be vying for a Game 1 nod, with a stable of arms ready to go behind them.
Oddly enough, these two teams met in the NLCS in 2018, the last year Milwaukee won a postseason series. The Dodgers dispatched the Brewers in six games with Cody Bellinger winning NLCS MVP honors.
