The Mariners — four wins away from their first World Series berth in franchise history — will take on the Blue Jays in the best-of-seven American League Championship Series with the pennant on the line.

Toronto hasn't been to the Fall Classic since winning its second consecutive championship in 1993.

Seattle outlasted Detroit in an epic ALDS clincher, punctuated by Jorge Polanco's walk-off single in the 15th inning of Game 5. This team may not have postseason pedigree, but there is plenty of star power: Slugging Cal Raleigh and his 62 home runs leads a veteran offense, while Logan Gilbert anchors one of the best pitching staffs in the majors.

Toronto walloped the Yankees in the ALDS, taking care of its AL East rivals in just four games. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a series for the ages, hitting .529 with three home runs. Rookie right-hander Trey Yesavage and battle-tested Kevin Gausman form a sturdy 1-2 punch.
