Nolan Arenado has been a popular name in MLB trade rumors so far this season.
The St. Louis Cardinals are trending toward a rebuild, and the expensive, aging Arenado doesn't make sense to keep around.
But the teams suggested as Arenado destinations apparently aren't doing their part of the deal yet.
USA Today's Bob Nightengale reported: "The St. Louis Cardinals are not receiving any interest in third baseman Nolan Arenado after he rejected trades this winter to the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Angels."
"Not receiving any interest" apparently means the New York Yankees, maybe the most rumored outcome, haven't even picked up the phone and inquired.

The Yankees certainly could still use a third baseman, but maybe they deem Arenado too expensive or not productive enough anymore.
There's also an element of time in play here.
Deadlines often lead to action. The trade deadline is still a couple months away.
There will almost certainly be calls as the deadline gets closer. Will it be the Yankees specifically? It probably depends if a younger, less-heralded player steps up at third base in the meantime.
But if no one does, then the Yanks might still have a phone call lined up to St. Louis to make.
