The New York Yankees received some great news over the weekend, as superstar outfielder Aaron Judge should be making his return to the field soon.

Judge is arguably the best player in Major League Baseball and has been putting together another MVP-caliber season, slashing .342/.449/1.160, mashing 37 home runs with 85 RBIs. In the last week of July, Judge suffered a flexor strain that has sidelined the seven-time All-Star ever since.

After missing eight games already to injury, Judge is expected to return to the field next week, according to Bleacher Report's Julia Stumbaugh.

"The New York Yankees are targeting a Tuesday or Wednesday return for injured outfielder Aaron Judge, manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Friday," Stumbaugh wrote. "The manager said last weekend that Judge's first few days coming back from the injury would likely be played at DH."

"Judge had played every game of the 2025 season heading into last weekend. He led MLB with a .342 batting average through 103 games prior to his injury. Making sure he is healthy down the stretch will be key to the Yankees' title hopes after bringing in players including David Bednar, Ryan McMahon, Amed Rosario and Austin Slater before Thursday's trade deadline in order to load up for a postseason run."

The Yankees could use Judge now more than ever. They've now officially dropped to third in their division behind the Boston Red Sox. Despite holding onto one of the American League Wild Card playoff spots right now, the Yankees need Judge down the stretch if they want to make a deep postseason run.
