Giancarlo Stanton remains capable, in one swing, of hitting the ball as hard as anyone in baseball.
Lately, though, that contact has come mostly in the form of singles.
Yankees superstar Aaron Judge joked to reporters that Stanton "is a singles hitter now."
That's not entirely true. Stanton's power is still prodigious.
But in this recent stretch, five of Stanton's last six hits have been singles.
In July, Stanton has 13 hits, four of which have been homers and two of which have been doubles, which means seven singles.

In his career, Stanton records singles on about 52.2% of his hits. This season, Stanton has singles on 68% of his hits.
It's a bit of a small sample size, so it's probably not too much to read into.
Stanton proved last postseason that he's capable of going on a home run binge at a moment's notice.
But right now, there have been a few more singles than usual.
