The New York Yankees are looking exactly like the World Series contenders they are supposed to be in 2025. The Bronx Bombers are 33-20 and first in the American League East by six games.
This team has been on a heater recently, winning eight out of its last ten and rising to one of the best records in the league. While it’s been a group effort, two players have been phenomenal this season: Aaron Judge and Max Fried.
And MLB.com’s Manny Randhawa has the superstar right fielder and pitcher projected to make the All-MLB First team this year, with the following justification:
“What can you say about Judge to appropriately describe what he’s doing at the plate?” Randhawa says. “He's continuing to flirt with a .400 batting average while leading the American League with 18 home runs. But that’s what Judge does -- he leaves us speechless…Fried has been utterly dominant in his first season with the Yankees, pitching to a 7-0 record with a minuscule 1.29 ERA.”
While it’s unsurprising that Fried and Judge are on pace to make these teams, it’s a testament to their dominance that this is not even a debate. These are the two frontrunners for MVP and Cy Young right now, and a one-two punch that can carry the Yankees deep into October. We’re a long way away from that time of the season, but these starts are encouraging for fans of the 27-time World Series champs.
