The New York Yankees are in the midst of a massive series against the Houston Astros, and not only are they looking to take the top spot in the American League East, but they’re also trying to beat one of their longtime rivals.

This will be one of the biggest three-game sets of the year for the Yankees, as the regular season is almost finished.

However, without superstar Aaron Judge in the outfield, the Yankees have had to make some strange decisions.

Is Aaron Judge Returning?

Judge continues to swing the bat at a ridiculous level and should be the American League MVP, barring anything drastic happening. Despite that, his inability to play the outfield right now might hurt his chances.

Regardless of whether it does or not, the Yankees are concerned about winning a World Series, and it's safe to say that if Judge had the opportunity to win a World Series or an MVP, he would be looking for a ring.

Ultimately, whatever he does right now doesn't mean too much, as the Yankees are looking to accomplish something they haven’t in a very long time.

In order for them to do that, they need their captain in the outfield for a few different reasons.

According to Aaron Boone, it sounds like that could be coming sooner rather than later.

"Getting close,” Boone said on “Talkin’ Yankees.”

What does getting close mean for Boone? Well, that's the thing.

Boone might be saying he's getting close, and it might be another month, or it could be sometime in this Astros series or shortly after.
